Privacy policy

ThreadCAD is an embroidery design app for Android and iOS. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your designs, pictures and files stay on your phone, there is no account, and the only information that leaves your phone is optional usage and crash reports and what is needed to process a purchase.

Who we are

ThreadCAD ("we", "us") is published by its independent developer. You can reach us at sharathnaik89@gmail.com.

Information that stays on your phone

• Projects and designs: everything you create, import or export is saved in the app's storage on your device. We never receive it.
• Pictures: when you pick a picture from your gallery, it is processed on your phone to create stitches. It is not uploaded.
• Embroidery files: files you import or export are read and written on your device. You choose where to save or share them.
• Settings: preferences such as units, haptics and your machine are stored on your device.

Deleting the app deletes this information. Back up a project from the app first if you want to keep it.

Information that leaves your phone

Usage and crash reports (optional)

To find bugs and understand which features help people, the app uses Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics:

• Usage events: for example that the app was opened, a file was exported (with its format) or the PRO screen was shown, plus basic device information (device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate country) and a random app-instance identifier.
• Crash reports: when the app crashes, the technical details of the error (stack trace, device model, operating system, app version, free memory) and a random installation identifier.

These reports never include your designs, pictures, files or project names, and they are not used for advertising. You can turn them off at any time in Settings › Share usage and crashes. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy and security terms. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days.

Purchases

ThreadCAD PRO is sold through Google Play and the App Store, which handle payment. We never see your card or bank details. To confirm which plan you own and restore it on another device, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your store purchase receipts and history linked to a random, anonymous app user ID (no name or email). Downloads

Some features download helper files the first time you use them (for example the smart cut-out). Like any download, the request reveals your device's IP address to the server that hosts the file (Hugging Face). No design, picture or personal information is sent.

What we do not do

• No account, sign-up, name, email or phone number is collected by the app.
• No advertising and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• No access to your contacts, location or microphone.

Permissions

• Photos: only the pictures you choose, to turn them into stitches.
• Internet and network state: purchases, optional reports and one-time downloads; downloads wait for Wi-Fi.

This website

threadcad.web.app is a static website hosted on Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Google's servers log basic request information (such as IP address and browser) to deliver and protect the site.

Children

ThreadCAD is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your rights and choices

• Turn usage and crash reports off in Settings at any time.
• Delete everything on your phone by deleting the app.
• Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you, or to object to its use. Because we do not know who you are, include your RevenueCat app user ID or purchase order number (from your store receipt) when you write to sharathnaik89@gmail.com, and we will respond within 30 days.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play or App Store account settings.

International transfers and security

Google and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards. Data sent from the app travels encrypted (HTTPS).

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
